Producing a New Breed of Hops (NuclearHops) to Glow in the Dark to Light up Buildings and Make Glowing Brew

Dreamscape Systems Inc. is proposing a portfolio of novel plant breeds that are designed to address a number of problems, including providing light for living roofs for buildings, fortifying berries with vitamin D (which is deficient in large segments of the population), and even add color and umami flavor to Lion's mane mushroom.

The Eden Program has eleven projects, each written as its own USDA NIFA STTR Phase I narrative under Topic Area 8.2:
1. Megastrawberry (enlarge, sweeten, and add cherry flavor and vitamin d to strawberries)
2. Purpleberry (purple/blue strawberry with vitamin d; with additional grape/blueberry taste)
3. Megablueberry (enlarge blueberry add vitamin d)
4. Grapeberry (miniaturized fast growing grapes designed with more flavor and vitamin d)
5. Electroberry (green-apple lime flavored grapes that glow yellow in the dark with vitamin d)
6. Moonberry (fast growing enlarged blackberry as a single berry with increased flavor and with thorns removed from vines vitamin d added)
7. Lifeberry (fast growing enlarged raspberry as a single berry with increased flavor and aroma with thorns removed from vines that glows red vitamin d added)
8. Winterherb (fast growing mint plant designed to glow green for living roofs with increased potency and added stevia flavors)
9. Lavapepper (pepper X designed to glow red with increased potency)
10. Nuclearhops (glow in the dark hops designed also with a tropical flavor)
11. Ligersmane (Lion's mane designed to have an umami flavor, vitamin d added, with a red color that glows in the dark)
Cinnaherb (mint plant with bright glow in the dark red coloration that tastes instead like cinnamon)
Cultured meats (Wooly Mammoth, Bluefin Tuna)
Pirahna Flytrap (gigantic Venus Flytrap colored red)
All of the proposals for the EDEN Program are unique variations that test new ideas - including the redesign of the blackberry to a single globular berry on the vine. While the active chemical that allows the hops to glow in the dark is edible, it is not stable at high temperatures.
